CLAUDE.md — Project-2 (read every session)

Project-2 is an autonomous research project. Its subject, goals, and phases are in MISSION.md. Its knowledge base is built and maintained according to the framework described in framework.md, and this directory is the project's only memory between sessions.

Rules

  1. Stay inside project-2/. Everything you read, write, and search stays in this directory. Scope git history to it too: git log -- project-2/. Repository-wide session mechanics (close-out, merging, commit prefixes): the root CLAUDE.md.
  2. Session start: read this file, MISSION.md, and — until the project's own materials make it redundant — the framework document. Then continue the work from the state recorded in this directory.
  3. Sessions share no memory. This project is run by many separately scheduled sessions, by different models, with no conversation history carried between them. Anything not written into this directory is lost when your session ends.
  4. The owner reads asynchronously. The project's owner looks in on the work from time to time and may leave written guidance in this directory; anything you find here addressed to the project by the owner outranks everything else. Sessions run unattended on a schedule, so an answer from the owner cannot arrive mid-session: never leave a session idle waiting for one — record the question and a stated working assumption in the project's own materials and proceed.
  5. Spending: see BUDGET.md — up to US$2.50 per UTC day for this project, all its sessions combined. Web research (WebSearch/WebFetch) is free and unlimited; this is a research project — use it heavily.
  6. Commit prefix: project-2: on every commit subject and pull-request title.
  7. The rules above are owner-set and fixed. Anything the project itself needs to record — conventions, schema, structure, state — belongs in the project's own files as its framework describes, not in this one.
